The anniversary year began earlier this year at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, where Powerscreen showcased the latest developments in its crushing and screening portfolio and continued at Hillhead 2026 with a focus on the brand’s heritage, including the restoration of the original MK1 mobile screening machine and recognition of individuals who have played a significant role in Powerscreen’s development through a special Hall of Fame induction

PowerFest represented a different chapter in the anniversary story, turning the spotlight onto the people who have helped build Powerscreen since its founding as Ulster Plant Ltd in County Tyrone in 1966.

Founded on the pioneering concept of mobile screening, Powerscreen fundamentally changed how aggregates are processed by bringing the machine to the material rather than transporting material to a fixed processing plant. What began as a small engineering operation evolved into a global business whose influence extends far beyond the equipment it produces.

Sean Loughran, Business Line Director of Powerscreen, said, “Throughout this anniversary year, we have been reflecting on different aspects of the Powerscreen story. At CONEXPO, we focused on innovation and the future. At Hillhead, we celebrated our heritage and some of the key figures who helped shape the brand. PowerFest was about recognising the people, families and communities whose contribution is woven throughout our 60-year history.”

Over six decades, Powerscreen has introduced products that helped define the mobile crushing and screening sector. Early machines such as the MK1 established mobile screening as a practical and commercially viable solution, while later platforms including Chieftain and Warrior became recognised benchmarks for performance, productivity and versatility across the industry.

The influence of the brand has also extended through its global distribution network, widely regarded as one of the strongest in the sector. Many distributor businesses were founded or led by individuals whose careers began with Powerscreen, creating a network rooted in practical product knowledge, strong customer relationships and a shared understanding of the applications served by the brand.

Loughran continued, “While Powerscreen is known globally for pioneering mobile screening, our greatest contribution may well be the people who developed their skills here and went on to influence the wider industry. Many former employees established dealerships, engineering businesses and successful manufacturing companies around the world. Others spent their entire careers with Powerscreen, helping build the foundations of the business we know today.”

Since becoming part of Terex Corporation in 1999, Powerscreen has continued to invest in manufacturing capability, engineering expertise and workforce development. This commitment has included the opening of the brand’s new global offices in Dungannon, alongside ongoing investment in automation, digital manufacturing systems, training and skills development.
Looking ahead, innovation remains central to the future of Powerscreen, as the industry continues to evolve through digitalisation, automation, sustainability and changing customer requirements.

“As we enter our seventh decade, we’re proud of the role Powerscreen has played in shaping the modern crushing and screening industry,” said Loughran. “However, anniversaries are not only about reflecting on the past. They are also an opportunity to recognise the people who will shape the future. Innovation, strong partnerships and talented people have defined Powerscreen for 60 years, and they will continue to do so for many years to come.”
Anniversary celebrations will continue into early 2027 when Powerscreen brings together its global distribution network, recognising the relationships and shared success that have helped carry the brand from its origins in Northern Ireland to customers around the world.
