Atlas Copco is a trusted service partner that assists customers, through the delivery of professional after-market solutions, maximising machine performance, availability, efficiency and lifecycle, while minimising operating costs. “When customers buy Atlas Copco products, they are making an investment,” states Douw van Schalkwyk, Business Line Manager for Power Technique’s Service Division. “The best way to protect their investment is by having their products serviced at the correct intervals by qualified Atlas Copco technicians using genuine parts.”
“We have tailored our after-market service portfolio for our portable pump customers to comprehensively cover their individual needs during the products’ life time,” continues Van Schalkwyk. He unpacks Atlas Copco’s after-market solutions for Atlas Copco’s range of PAS and PAC surface dewatering pumps and WEDA electric submersible units.
“We highly recommend customers to make use of Atlas Copco’s Service Maintenance Plan as it enables them to take full advantage of preventative maintenance and repairs by factory-trained technicians equipped with the correct tooling. The Service Plan provides scheduled service options that will match the precise needs of customers’ pumps with genuine parts quality and professional workmanship. Customers are kept informed through regular service reports for complete peace of mind.” Van Schalkwyk also points out the Service Plans, which include Preventative Maintenance Kits, Wear and Repair Kits, and Service Repair and Machine Overhaul, have been developed on the basis of customer feedback, application know-how, field support, and product development experience.
Preventative Maintenance Kits, Performance and Efficiency Kits as well as Consumables (lubricants) are grouped under Atlas Copco’s maintenance package. “Our Maintenance Kits are made up of Service Kits, an all-in-one box that contains all the parts required for the equipment’s scheduled maintenance program, and Multi-pack Kits suited for fleet solutions,” says Van Schalkwyk. Atlas Copco’s Performance and Efficiency Kits have been specially developed to restore overall machine efficiency and to return it to its factory specifications. All kits consist of a combination of different Wear and Repair Kits for PAS and PAC pumps. Customers are given a choice of silver, gold or diamond packages to suit their individual maintenance programmes as determined by their pump types and applications.
Under Consumables, Van Schalkwyk highlights the importance of using the correct lubricant. “Different machines need different types of lubricant to perform optimally. Furthermore, the type of application as well as ambient conditions also determines which lubricant is best to use.”
Atlas Copco’s Service Repair and Machine Overhaul packages include Seal and Service Kits. The Seal Kits contain the right selection of components for a mechanical seal change to ensure trouble-free operation. The Service Kits include the original lubricant which has been specifically engineered to match pump specifications. The Instant Service Pack is a tailored service product for the submersible WEDA pumps. Thanks to its easy installation, this pack offers quick on-site repair, consequently reducing the machine’s downtime cost. The Wear Part Kit, available for Atlas Copco’s complete pump range, is a typical selection of components that return the pump’s performance to factory setup and is the ideal solution for a machine overhaul or refurbishment. “We also offer a complete Wet End to maximize customer repair times, especially when a big overhaul is required,” adds Van Schalkwyk.
Van Schalkwyk stresses the fact that there is just no getting away from the fact that our genuine parts offer quality, high performance and efficiency. “Thanks to the selection of superior quality materials and optimised design, our pump parts increase the machines’ productivity while keeping the life cycle costs low. Using genuine parts ensures that Atlas Copco products are maintained to factory specifications and prolonging service life for best-in-class total cost of ownership.” Atlas Copco’s Parts Plan, which consists of a planned parts activity over a two- or three-year period (depending on machine utilisation levels), covers all parts required for maintenance.
Moving on to Atlas Copco’s convenient online platforms such as FleetLink and Power Connect, Van Schalkwyk says that customers can conveniently stay connected with their machines and equipment, access vital product information and make online purchases 24/7 with the simple click of a button. This intelligent telematics system allows customers to remotely manage their pump fleet (big or small), always having the latest fleet information at hand. By keeping customers connected to the job-site, pumps and teams, FleetLink helps to optimise fleet usage and reduce maintenance cost, ultimately saving customers time and money.
Power Connect, which is available on all smart devices, conveniently provides a direct link to Atlas Copco’s Parts Online where customers can find spare parts and consumables for their Atlas Copco pumps on the up-to-date spare parts catalogue system. Customers simply scan the QR code on their machine to go to the Power Connect Portal.
