Saudi Arabia, Angola prepares to reinforce cooperation in mining, infrastructure

Angola is prepared to operate with Saudi Arabia in the sector of mining as the African nation seeks to dig minerals such as copper, nickel as well as lithium, as said by its envoy.

While giving a speech to Arab News on the offshoots of the Future Minerals Forum in the capital, Riyadh, Frederico Manuel dos Santos e Silva Cardoso discussed the ties among his nation and the Kingdom, stating that funds might flow among the two countries.

In addition to the mining field, he also talked about the infrastructure developments as a prospect sector of partnership.

“Angola is also engaged in diversifying the economy,” according to Cardoso, talking about Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 ambition to diverse the Kingdom’s economy from its reliance on oil.

“We can work in several fields on mining. For example, Angola has copper, cobalt, nickel, lithium, diamonds, and also has ornamental rocks that could be areas that we could work (on) together,” he also noted.
