Ebsray upgrades mechanical seal assembly

Australian pump manufacturer Ebsray Pumps, part of PSG, a Dover company, has announced a new mechanical seal assembly for its RC Series regenerative turbine pumps.

The new seal assembly is a direct replacement for the company’s existing seal assembly on the RC20, RC25 and RC40 pump models and no other part changes are required.

The construction of the new seal assembly uses the pump’s existing cartridge but now incorporates a new multi-spring design, a silicon carbide (SiC) stationary face, a carbon rotating face and FKM O-ring elastomers that are rated for use in temperatures as low as -40ºF (-40ºC).

The new construction improves the seal’s ability to handle extreme operating conditions, to work more effectively during dry-run operation and reduce emissions under normal operating conditions. This seal upgrade also maintains the RC Series pumps’ compliance with Underwriters Laboratories (UL) UL51, ATEX and AS1596 operating codes.

Ebsray RC Series pumps with the new mechanical-seal assembly was on display at the recent National Propane Gas Association’s (NPGA) Southeastern Convention & International Propane Expo, held in Atlanta, GA, USA
