KSB wins €55mn pump order under Make in India initiative

KSB Pumps Ltd has secured a €55 million order from M/s Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) to supply primary coolant pumps as a part of the Make in India initiative.

The eight primary coolant pumps – RSR 400/2 and related accessories – will be installed at NPCIL’s Gorakhpur Anu Vidyut Pariyojana 1 & 2 project in Haryana.

The pumps will be manufactured at KSB’s Energy Pumps Division in Shirwal, near Pune. Pump delivery is expected to start in June 2021 with a target to complete the order by March 2023.

Make in India is a major national program designed to facilitate investment, foster innovation, enhance skill development, protect intellectual property and build a ‘best in class’ manufacturing infrastructure in India.

In order to be fully prepared to serve the emerging and accelerated growth of the Indian energy industry, KSB Pumps Ltd inaugurated its sixth manufacturing base – the Energy Pumps Division – at Shirwal, near Pune in April 2017. Located on a 100 000 sq m site, the Energy Pumps Division primarily handles the manufacture of pumps for super critical power plants and nuclear power plants.

KSB has five other plants in India, manufacturing and supplying centrifugal pumps and valves for the water and wastewater, agriculture, construction and general industries, as well as for oil refineries and petrochemical and power plants including super critical and nuclear.

Founded in India in 1960, KSB Pumps Ltd is part of KSB SE & Co KGaA.
