Eddyfi Technologies Proudly Introduces Sonyks™

We present the new instrument featuring intuitive onboard software and both Magneto-tool and Piezo-tool options.

It has been nearly 25 years since the commercial launch of Teletest®, the first Guided Wave Ultrasonic Testing (GWUT or GWT) or Long-Range Ultrasonic Testing (LRUT) instrument designed to efficiently screen long pipes, including buried pipelines, for corrosion. With the technology and supporting expertise acquired by Eddyfi Technologies in 2017, significant research and development have been heavily invested into this offering. Today, we are proud to introduce Sonyks™, the result of true innovation and industry fed improvements for peak performance and ultimate user experience.

As the Teletest Focus+™ passes the torch onto the next generation of guided wave testing equipment, all aspects of the LRUT system have been reengineered. Operators will immediately benefit from an enhanced instrument with rapidly deployed Magneto-tool, single connection Piezo-tooling, powerful software and reporting package. Setting new standards for data quality, versatility, ease of use, and deployment, Sonyks has truly made the technology more accessible with the reinvention of guided waves. The first GWT instrument featuring a large high-quality touchscreen, Sonyks brings comprehensive data to your fingertips with lightning-fast electronics using a combination of broadband and Full Matrix Capture (FMC) data collection. Improved signal quality, high reliability, and simple on-instrument interpretation for nearly effortless reporting offer an enhanced user experience.

Sonyks unlocks new opportunities with an unprecedented ability to assess more pipework applications in the most cost and time efficient manner, while finding even smaller defects and achieving a greater range. Whether examining high attenuation or buried pipelines, flanged pipework, or your common aboveground pipes, the Magneto-tool for 1.5-to-4-inch diameter pipelines offers an impressive Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) for an increased inspection efficiency by 50 percent. For 6-to-72-inch diameter pipes, the Piezo-tool is the lightest and most flexible tool on the market featuring a rapid mounting system. Careful attention to detail has ensured that it packs tightly reducing travel cases and cost of shipping. Service providers can make the most of their past investment in GWT by using existing transducer rings as Sonyks is compatible with most commercial piezo guided wave equipment. Pair your existing collars with this ultramodern instrument featuring best-in-class electronics and give a second life to your inspection campaigns.

The Sonyks guided wave testing system is testament to Eddyfi Technologies’ commitment to keeping stakeholders Beyond Current. For more information, visit www.eddyfi.com/sonyks.
