Belzona has showcased the strength restoration capabilities of its Belzona SuperWrap II composite repair system through a live load test involving a seven-tonne monster truck.
As part of its countdown to its 75th anniversary in 2027, the Company reinforced a carbon steel pipe with the Belzona SuperWrap II composite wrap system before subjecting it to the weight of the Red Dragon Monster Truck at its headquarters in Harrogate, UK.
Despite the enormous load, the reinforced pipe successfully withstood the challenge, providing a striking demonstration of the system’s ability to restore the integrity of holed, weakened, corroded and eroded pipework and tank walls.
Barry Nisill, CEO at Belzona, said:“As we begin our countdown to our 75th anniversary, we wanted to do something memorable that would showcase the innovation and engineering expertise that have been at the heart of Belzona for almost three quarters of a century.
“Having a seven-tonne monster truck drive over a pipe repaired with Belzona SuperWrap II certainly captured people’s attention, but it also demonstrated the strength and reliability of a technology that helps customers around the world extend the life of critical equipment and infrastructure.”
