Metso has secured repeat orders from a mining customer in Africa for the supply of liners for SAG and ball mills. The scope of supply includes Metallic Liners for the SAG mills and both Metallic and Megaliner™ composite linings for the Ball mills.
In addition to the liners, Metso is providing a range of supplementary services, including MillMapper™ liner wear monitoring, Metrics digital monitoring, onsite support, and performance guarantees.
Leveraging Metso’s technology and expertise, the customer will be able to accelerate the ramp-up to optimal mill speed, improve grinding efficiency, and reduce pebble production. The customer also benefits from quicker, safer liner installations and enhanced performance through wear life simulations. Megaliner’s efficient replacement process minimizes downtime during relining, while also improving safety.
The orders are valued at approximately €14 million. The first part was recorded in the Minerals segment’s second quarter of 2024, with the remainder booked in the third quarter.
